You know your story best.
I'm here to walk alongside you as you rediscover your inherent wisdom, reconnect with your values, and move toward the life you envision for yourself.
My Therapeutic Philosophy
You are not your diagnosis. You are a whole person with a unique story, inherent strengths, and the capacity for growth and healing. My job is to help you reconnect with what you already know to be true about yourself. Whether you're dealing with symptoms related to trauma, depression, anxiety, mood disorders, or psychotic disorders, you bring wisdom to this process that no textbook can teach.
Connection fosters healing. As bell hooks reminds us, "healing is an act of communion." The therapeutic relationship we build together becomes part of that connection and community, a safe harbor where you can process, grow, and discover your path forward.
Your experience matters. I practice therapy from an anti-oppressive lens, which means I recognize how systems of power and oppression may have impacted your life. We'll work together to challenge internalized messages that don't serve you, while centering your own experiences, beliefs, and preferences as our guiding light.
Modalities I Use:
-
Relational Therapy draws heavily from psychodynamic and attachment theory, emphasizing that we grow through and toward connection. This type of talk therapy explores how relationship patterns shape our wellbeing and sense of identity.
-
Narrative therapy is an approach that separates you from your problems, treating the problem as something you're in relationship with rather than something that defines you. Together, we explore how that struggle shows up in your life and uncover the values, strengths, and moments of resistance that point toward a fuller, more hopeful story.
-
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is a structured, skills-based approach that helps people manage intense emotions, tolerate distress, and build healthier relationships. It combines talk therapy with skills training in mindfulness, emotion regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness, and is often helpful for those struggling with self-harm or difficulty regulating emotions.
-
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a structured, goal-oriented approach that helps people identify and change unhelpful thought patterns and behaviors. By understanding the connection between thoughts, feelings, and actions, clients build practical skills to manage challenges like anxiety, depression, and stress.
I also use variation of CBT called CBTp (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for psychosis) for those with psychotic experiences. CBTp helps people understand and cope with experiences like hallucinations and delusions by exploring the thoughts and beliefs connected to them. CBTp takes a collaborative, curious approach to reduce distress and build practical coping strategies.
What to Expect
In our sessions, you'll find a space free from judgment, where connection and collaboration guide our work.
I specialize in supporting individuals with:
Trauma & PTSD - whether from recent events or experiences that have shaped your life story
Depression - when the weight of the world feels overwhelming
Anxiety - from everyday worries to panic that disrupts your daily life
Mood Disorders - persistent mood challenges and emotional regulation difficulties
Psychotic Disorders - hallucinations, delusions, disorder thinking, unusual behaviors and negative symptoms like social withdrawal
Once we’ve scheduled our first session, I will send you some paperwork to complete. These will include an intake form, consent form, and notice of privacy policies and practices.
Our first session is then about getting to know each other and better understanding what brought you to therapy. We'll explore your goals and begin building a collaborative relationship that will support your growth.
Every session after that is guided by what matters most to you.
